In an interview with "The Economic Times", Narayana, the director of the film said that "Jr" will be made on a grand scale and it will be one of the largest Indian films ever with a combination of adventure, drama and comedy elements along with some negative aspects of Jr.'s ‘bad boy’ image like alcoholism and smoking. He described "Jr. as a larger than life personality and one of the most colorful characters in Indian cinema." In July 2015, it was reported that Jr. 's biopic will be made with a budget of US$15 million. In August 2015, Damodar Mauzo announced that Wanderlust Pictures has acquired the remake rights to "Jr." which will be produced by the latter's production house Wanderlust Pictures. In an interview with "The Hindu", Mauzo said that "Currently we are looking for a director for Jr." who must have a background in comedy and feature films. In January 2016, "The Hindu" reported that the film would be shot in America as a bilingual, bilingual with Kannada elements and a completely US funded movie. The film will have a budget of US$20 million. In February 2016, Fahad Mustafa was signed on as the lead for Jr.'s biopic. In an interview with "The Hindu", Jr. said that his biopic would reflect his image truthfully and not idealizing him like how did the DDLJ character did to Amitabh Bachchan. cfa1e77820
